In response to Brian Edwards, and others the same lies that the coal industry puppets keeps spreading, we are not out of state groups. Coal River Mountain Watch is in Whitesville, West Virginia. The Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition is in Huntington West, Virginia, with members from Mingo, Logan, Boone, Lincoln and Raleigh County. Our families have been here for many generations and settled the area before the coal and land companies came here and stole our land and paid our ancestors in fake money.The real out of state groups are the coal companies, like Massey Energy and Arch Coal. It is a shame that the taxpayers of this state are paying for the millions that coal barons like Don Blankenship spends to destroy our state.
We, taxpayers, are paying for the damage to the roads and bridges, the blast damage to homes, the flooding damages, for the health effects and doctors bills from poison water and for the treatment of the water pollution. FEMA money doesn't grow money on trees; it comes from the taxpayers like us. Every time the coal company refuses to take responsibility for injured miners, we taxpayers pick up the bill. When people get sick from breathing coal dust and drinking poison water, we pay for it. That is called corporate welfare.
It is a sin to make a living by bombing God's creation, blasting your neighbors, and poisoning your neighbors air and water. That's called blood money. So please stop bombing your neighbors for greedy, evil coal companies.
You can't put a mountain back; do you think that you can do a better job than God? The mountaintop removal reclamation sites are a joke. Where are the ginseng, the cohosh, the ramps, the yellow root, the bloodroot and the mulberry trees?
