Campaign and Day of Action Against Citi and Bank of America

As you may have gathered from the above story, pictures, and video, CRMW has
Pauline Canteberry does not appreciate the coal dust from BoA's investments covering her home.
partnered with Rainforest Action Network and others in a campaign against Bank of America and Citi, two of the largest corporations in the world.  Why?  Because both of them have lent out billions of dollars to the coal industry.  They fund coal at every step of its journey, from cradle to grave.  They are behind MTR here in Appalachia, the destruction of the Dineh people's land in Arizona and a whole lot of proposed new coal fired power plants.

On Nov. 16 and 17 thousands of folk in more than 50 cities came together and hit Bank of America and Citi  ATM's and bank branches  across the nation to send the message "Stop funding coal, Start funding renewable energy".  Balloon banners were released in Texas; every Citi and BOA ATM in San Francisco had yellow "Global Warming Crime Scene" tape around it; here in WV we took pictures to remind folks from all over just what investing money in Bank of America and Citi means.  Since neither of the banks have branches in West Virginia, we did a small photo tour of the effects of their investments.
Larry Gibson and Chuck Nelson are joined by students from JMU on top of Kayford Mountain to view BoA's investments.

Please see also a brief write-up of actions across the country and more photos of West Virginia.
